(2022)

DURATION: 17'
a film by: Stefano Santamato
Produced by: The Blink Fish
For: Stefano Boeri Architetti
Executive producer: Paolo Soravia

A direct descendant of the iconic Bosco Verticale in Milan, the Trudo Vertical Forest in Eindhoven is the first tower of its family to be designed for Social Housing. The film tells about the design process that Stefano Boeri Architetti put in place with the idea of making this architectural typology accessible for everyone.

The film is  a "guide" to the design of Vertical Forests, but it is also a story: that of the young assignees of the apartments, who now inhabit this tower. They are the real protagonists of this inspiring journey.

For: Stefano Boeri Architetti

SALA 5 is an immersion into Milan's Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, one of the oldest and most renowned museums in the world. The film crosses the threshold of its  entrance to discover a valuable and unique work of art: the "Raphael Cartoon" an immense preparatory drawing for The School of Athens, a fresco created by Raphael Sanzio for the Signatura Room of the Vatican Palaces. Among the countless rooms inhabited by masterpieces of Art History, number 5 uniquely hosts the magnificent cartoon by the hand of Raphael. The film tells the story of the redesign of the room, with a project by Stefano Boeri Architetti put in place with the expertise of firms and workers representing the excellence of international technique and labor. Close-up footage of the different stages of the delicate restoration and construction site, interviews with the designers and curators, are the narrative ingredients of an exciting journey to the boundaries between past and present and between art and architecture.

The film tells the poignant story that lies behind the scenography of The Trojan Women, by Euripides, staged at Syracuse Greek Theater Festival, in Sicily, southern Italy, in summer 2019. The famous Greek tragedy tells the aftermath of the defeat of Troy, when women were assigned as slaves to the winners and the city was set on fire. Architect and scenographer Stefano Boeri found inspiration to depict that ravaged scenery in the images of the so-called "Vaia Storm", one of the nowadays sadly common extraordinary climate events. In one single night, in Autumn 2018, rain and wind torn down approximately 14 million trees, transforming a wonderful mountain landscape of lush woods and forests in northern Italy into an apocalyptic nightmare, with environmental consequences that will affect every aspect of life in the area for many a decades to come.
Studio Boeri has managed to recover 400 of those trunks, and from the opposite end of the Italy made them travel to Syracuse. Here, as protagonists of the scenography of the tragedy, they were given a second life. The film tells the journey of these trunks through their own “eyes”, following them along 1500 Km, across a multiplicity of landscapes, colours and sounds, until the final staging.

FALCO (2018)

Falco" is an observational documentary i made during my studies in filmmaking at the CFP Bauer of Milan.

"City Life" is a brand new district of Milan's city center and it's one of the richest area of the city. "City Life" is also known for being one of Europe's "safest neighborhoods", thank to the surprising amount of agents of private security services, that monitor both private and public spaces 24h/24.

This film is an attempt to look at the public space through the eyes of a City Life's cop.
